Traders At Berkeley

I joined Traders at Berkeley in Spring 2021, in its first semester of operations. In this first semester, I led the game development team, where we built out two games: a turn-based market-making game with dynamic trade systems and a form-based market-making game. These games were written in React.js, with Flask servers, and were used at the first Berkeley Trading Competition in Spring 2021 by 100 competitors.

The next year, I served as the Head of External Operations for Traders at Berkeley for Fall 2021, Spring 2022, and Fall 2022, where I led sponsor relations and events held by the club. I managed sponsorship updating and renewals, held multiple public events with sponsor representatives to provide information flow between industry and the UC Berkeley community, and managed sponsorship communication, budgeting, and logistics for the Spring 2022 Berkeley Trading Competition.

In Fall 2022, I created the Berkeley Quantitative Finance Career Fair, UC Berkeley’s first career fair focused on Quantitative Finance opportunities. I originated and outlined the idea, led implementation details such as venue, marketing, and merchandise logistics, and communicated with sponsors for travel to the event and expectations. We received over 600 attendees, over double our most optimistic projections.

In Spring 2023, I became the co-president of Traders at Berkeley, leading internal operations such as general meetings, socials, and overall club logistics and alignment. I helped run recruitment and introduced a new member education program for those joining the club to get up to speed on industry knowledge, interview preparation, and more. I also helped lead and successfully orchestrate the first in-person Berkeley Trading Competition in Spring 2023, bringing in over 100 competitors from 20+ universities for an expenses-paid trading competition, where all of our sponsors were present to interact with competitors.
